USA Today reports that Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, President Obama's nominee for HHS Secretary, has cleared the major hurdle of the Senate Finance Committee, winning their approval 15-8. The vote will go to the full Senate within a few days, and assuming her final approval, Sebelius' appointment will complete President Obama's cabinet. Only 2 of the 10 Republican members of the Finance Committee voted in favor of Sebelius: Sen. Pat Roberts from her home state of Kansas, and moderate Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine.
Olympia Snowe again... I could be wrong about Sarah Palin.
