Defense of Marriage Act repealed?
US Rep. John Conyers, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee told the Michigan Messenger that he "has the votes" to repeal DOMA, which if repealed, would require same-sex marriages to be recognized in all US states. Conyers was less certain that such a repeal would pass the entire Congress, saying, “Well in my committee, yes, but in the House and Senate, that’s a different question." [FULL STORY HERE]
