Obama's Arrogance Gets Some Attention
I am not going to take this as an opportunity to condemn Barack Obama. He's doing enough of that on his own lately. But, I will point out that his arrogance is getting some attention in the media. Finally, the angelic halo that has been protecting him is tarnished. I find Obama cultism very alarming. Clinton loyalties which are lauded as iron-clad, don't hold a candle to Obama's self-proclaimed supremacy. Clinton got slammed for mocking Obama, saying the sky would part and angels would sing and everyone would be saved. But it was him who said it. She was not mocking him, she was parroting him. Clinton got slammed for her assumption that she was the inevitable winner, but it was actually Obama who made those claims, about himself. Clinton's claim was based on poll results, Obama's (back then) was just rhetoric. Now, interestingly, that relationship has been inverted, with Clinton using rhetoric to claim her spot and Obama using poll results. I think we've all seen how fast the weather can change. Both of them better watch out with the ego. But, Obama has set himself a nasty trap by letting his own sermon-style campaigning, frosted all over with arrogant claims of destiny and moral superiority, set the tone for his own defeat. Blame Clinton if you like, but I'd say the proof is in Obama's own words. Read this article: Obama Walks Arrogance Line. While I have criticized Obama's arrogance in contrast to Clinton, I really find it to be a weakness overall, and one that will be even greater against McCain, who has no intra-party compunction to keep it clean.
