Finally. I've read a few hints here and there that pundits think Clinton "should be" playing the gender card. Obviously, with Obama trying as hard as he can not to play the race card it seems like the wrong concept. I still think it is the right one, and a very valid one. I still believe that in terms of social change and positive impact, electing a woman president is a bigger deal. The "historic" element of the 2008 presidential campaign has finally been blown wide open (it was really there all the time) so why not capitalize on it? Obama is certainly capitalizing on his "brilliant" handling of the race question with his "genius" speech.
