Mosque Bombed In Gaza, 10 Killed

Knowing full well the potential hypocrisy of this post, I am writing it anyway. Anyone who is paying attention by now knows I am in favor of Israel's military actions against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. However, the Associated Press is reporting an Israeli air strike hit a mosque in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya, killing 10 people and wounding 33, seven critically, according to a Palestinian health official. Unless the mosque was full of 43 Hamas political or military targets, I find the attack and destruction of a house of worship to be needless violence. Reports are not saying if civilians were hurt or killed yet, but I will be watching to see what is released. Israel only maintains its high ground if they conduct this war 1) to defend their own territory and people, and 2) if they continue to target Hamas, not Islam or the Palestinian people, and 3) maintain through their actions that they are interested in a peaceful solution ultimately (likely through commitment to the two-state solution.) At the moment, I find myself disgusted and disappointed at such a bravado act of anti-Islamic sentiment as to bomb a mosque.
