Hillary Lite: Michelle Taste Great, Less Filling

In what appears to be an entirely benign and role-appropriate move, First Lady Michelle Obama yesterday gifted the Department of Agriculture with a seedling from magnolia tree on the White House lawn, planted by President Andrew Jackson. The First Lady said, "I hope that this seedling brings years of joy and beauty to the garden that will be planted here, in the same way it has brought beauty to the White House for 180 years."

This seems innocuous enough until you read a little further into the First Lady's agenda, which sounds an awful lot like something Hillary Clinton would do: she is conducting a "listening tour" through out the federal bureaucracy, with stops already made at the departments of Agriculture, Education, Interior, and Housing and Urban Development. Maybe if Bill had sent Hillary on a "listening tour" before be put her in charge of a White House committee, we'd already have Universal Health Care.

The Clinton presidency seems to be the general blueprint for the Obama presidency so far. Why should this be different? Watch for a more aggressive Michelle.
